Business Development Internship
JOB SUMMARY
As a business management intern, you are exposed to all areas of nonprofit business while gaining a broad perspective in international operations. You will report to the Executive Director (ED). The internship requires someone who has strong personal motivation to succeed balanced with flexibility to changing circumstances, open-mindedness to learning, and the ability to collaborate across cultures yet also accomplish tasks independently. You will practice essential business skills such as accounting, strategy development & monitoring, and business expansion. You will engage with hands-on projects in a focus area based on your experience and passion, such as:
- Nonprofit Accounting
- Business Analytics and Strategy
- Fundraising and Donor Relations
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Regular communication with the ED to set goals for the internship, and establish and monitor weekly progress.

Research current processes and recommend and implement process improvement opportunities to optimize operations.

Attend and present at weekly team meetings.

Exchange of knowledge with the Espere staff through teaching, mentoring, listening and fellowship.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to design and achieve a project (formal and informal, individual and team projects accepted).

At least two years of business university studies, or equivalent life experience.

Some international travel experience, or experience living within diverse socio-economic and cultural communities in the US.

Competence in Haitian Creole or French, or dedicated willingness to learn Haitian Creole.
This is a work-from-home opportunity. Additionally, individuals with specific skillsets outside of these areas are also encouraged to apply. Interns MUST be at least 21 years old.
