Our Clients: Assuring Post-Hurricane Recovery

In the second week after the Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti, one of our dedicated mental health workers was able to reach two of our long term outreach families. Until now the roads have been blocked and reaching the families was difficult. But both families are doing well considering the devastation around them.

In one case our client and family are safe, their home was mostly unaffected.

Another client was living in a tent before but managed to find shelter with a friend during the hurricane and so they remained safe.

Support from Espere's mental health workers makes it possible for these children in our Special Needs Outreach Program to stay with their families. Special needs include Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, learning disabilites and more general development disorders.
