Our Clients: Hurricane First Response

Espere's first actions during, and immediately after Hurricane Matthew were to reach out to our clients. Espere currently supports several children with special needs living in their family homes (More at http://www.esperecounseling.com/counseling-and-outreach-services). Their dedicated mental health worker remained in touch with them during the hurricane; keeping aware of the state of their homes and their well-being. Now that the roads are more accessible, he is visiting to assess any damage to their homes this week. With the help of generous support, we are ensuring that care to our clients continues uninterrupted through this recovery period.

In the case of one of our clients, their home was undamaged, but their father was unable to work and provide an income during the storm. Our mental health worker was able to supply food and diapers through a dedicated donation from one of our committed sponsors.

In person house visits and needs assessments will continue in the coming days.
